A photographer in the Sacramento Area, James Venes has been attending baseball games since the mid-80s with the Oakland Athletics being his team of choice while growing up in the East Bay. James has found this visual medium to be his main passion over the years, enjoying sports and nature the most. For Scout.com, James has actively covered Minor League Baseball throughout the state of California, his travels highlighted by attending various Minor League All-Star Games along with being published in the site's yearly prospect magazine. He still enjoys Major League Baseball as well, especially in seeing prospects move up the ladder on their path to the big leagues. He counts Yosemite National Park and Joshua Tree National Park among his favorite non-sports destinations.
